Cippenham Sports Open Golf Day 2011 TWENTY-TWO players entered the Cippenham Sports Open Golf Classic @ Bird Hill Golf Club on Tuesday 27th December 2011. After a bacon roll and coffee our deal allowed us a few balls on the golf range before the first foursome began play at 10.30am with James Nunn, Jeremy Wing, Keith Oswald and Tom Bryant leading the way. After the golf we sat down to Christmas dinner with all the trimmings and a boozy Christmas Pudding. (Total package £28) The first award up for grabs was The Alex Reeman "Nearest The Pin" Trophy played on the tough looking 15th. The trophy was won this year by Alex's dad Terry with a classy looking tee shot. The overall Champion was Tom Bryant with 42 points, closely followed by Jason Houghton with 41 points and Alex Reeman on 40 points. The "Worst Player" Trophy was a tight affair with newcomer Chris Ahearne on 15 points and Garry Pyper on 14 points however the trophy was retained by last years winner Michael McAleer on 9 points.

Cippenham Sports Open Golf Day 2010 SEVENTEEN players entered the Cippenham Sports Open Golf Classic @ Bird Hill Golf Club on a sunny Royal Wedding Bank Holiday after the original December Tournament was postponed due to severe bad weather (Snow). After a bacon roll and coffee the first foursome began play at 11.00am with James Nunn, Jeremy Wing, Alex Reeman and Tom Bryant leading the way. After the golf we sat down and sampled a lunch chosen from a variety of foods on offer on the hot plate, which was washed down by a ice cold beer. (Total package £23.50) The first award up for grabs was The Alex Reeman "Nearest The Pin" Trophy played on the tough looking 15th. The trophy was won this year by Keith Oswald with a magnificent tee shot. The overall Champion was Alex Reeman with 44 points, followed by James Nunn & Jerry Wing both on 37 points and Garry Fielding in 4th on 36 points. The "Worst Player" Trophy is usually close however not this year with Sean Ryan on 20 points, Start Phillips on 18 points and Michael McAleer last with just 9 pionts.

Cippenham Sports Open Golf Day 2009 An unprecedented EIGHTEEN players entered the Cippenham Sports Open Golf Classic @ Bird Hills Golf Club on Monday 28th December 2009. After a bacon roll and coffee, play began at 8.32am with a four ball lead by James Nunn, Alex Reeman, Lewis Clements & Jerry Wing. The players involved in the competition were a mixed bunch ranging from officially handicapped players to complete novices like Mark "Norts" Norton, but the name of the game was fun. The first award up for grabs was the "NearestThe Pin" Trophy which was won for a third successive time by Alex Reeman with an excellent tee shot from the formidable looking 15th hole. The trophy will now be named after him so this year it'll be the Alex Reeman "Nearest The Pin" Trophy. The overall Champion was Andy Cumming with 40 points which made it six different winners in the six years the competition has been running. Last years runner-up Jerry Wing finished 2nd on 36 points and newbie Lewis Clements finished 3rd with 36 points. The "Worst Player" trophy was also a closely fought affair, however club captain Garry Pyper came top of the pile with a respectable 11 points, much to the relief of Karl Oliver 14pts & Mark Norton 13pts. Cippenham Sports Open Golf Day 2008 SIXTEEN players entered the Cippenham Sports Open Golf Classic at Farnham Park Golf Club on Saturday 27th December 2008. After polishing off a sumptuous full English breakfast, play began at 10.30am with four four balls led by James Nunn, Alex Reeman, Paul Whitney & Jerry Wing. The players involved were a mixed bunch ranging from officially handicapped players to complete novices like Chris "Bob" McEwen, but the name of the game was fun. The first award up for grabs was the "NEAREST THE PIN" TROPHY which was won again by current holder Alex Reeman with his stunning tee shot on the tricky 2nd hole. The overall Champion was Alex Reeman who completed a clean sweep, finally winning the championship following three top three finishes with 42 points, last minute replacement Jerry Wing was 2nd with 40 points and Dave Bryant was 3rd with 36 points. A THIRD trophy was introduced this year for the "Worst Player" which I'd hoped people would step up a gear to try and avoid winning however, "Bob" McEwen seemed chuffed when he received the trophy with an amazing 0 points. Cippenham Sports Open Golf Day 2007 FIFTEEN players entered the Cippenham Sports Open Golf Classic at Farnham Park Golf Club on Thursday 27th December 2007. After a bacon roll and a cup of lukewarm tea, play began at 9.42am with three four balls and a three ball led by Nick Howitt, James Nunn, Keith Oswald and Paul Whitney. The players involved were a mixed bunch ranging from the semi-pro Nick Howitt to newbie Garry Pyper, but the name of the game was fun. Afterwards we sat down for dinner which consisted of ham, egg and chips which was included in the price(£16.50) The first award up for grabs was the "NEAREST THE PIN" TROPHY which was won by Alex Reeman with his stunning tee shot on the tricky 2nd Hole. After a sumptuous full English breakfast, play began at 10.02am with three four balls led by Nick Howitt, James Nunn, Tom Bryant and Gary Fielding. The players involved were a mixed bunch ranging from the semi-pro Nick Howitt and James Nunn to newbie's Balbir Sidhu and Garry Pyper, but the name of the game was fun. The first award up for grabs was the “NEAREST THE PIN” TROPHY which was won by Nick Howitt with his stunning tee shot on the tricky 2nd Hole. The overall Champion was James Nunn with a score of 45 points and a superb round of 79, Nick Howitt was 2nd with 36 and in 3rd place was Alex Reeman with 29 points. The Competitors

Cippenham Sports Open Golf Day 2005 A record SIXTEEN players entered the Cippenham Sports Open Golf Classic at Farnham Park Golf Course on Tuesday 27th December. After a sumptuous full English breakfast, play began at 9.55am with four groups of four balls led by James Nunn, Nick Howitt, Chris Hogan and Lozza Moore. The players involved were a mixed bunch ranging of the semi-pro Nick Howitt to first timer Balbir Sidhu but the name of the game was fun. The first award up for grabs was the “NEAREST THE PIN” TROPHY which Jamie Dunning won for his tee shot on the tricky 2nd Hole. The overall Champion was Nick Howitt with a score of 34 points and a superb round of 81, Alex Reeman was 2nd with 33 points and in 3rd place was last years winner Tom Bryant with 31 points.
